Mesh baskets allow water to move between the compost inside the container and the surrounding water, allowing essential movement of gases and nutrients to the plant roots. These baskets are of a registered design ensuring high strength and water movement but minimal soil loss. The wide flat base gives good stability.

Smaller plants can be planted in larger baskets to raise the level of the plant in the water. Larger plants should be divided when they outgrow their pot. Lilies require dividing and re-potting every 2-3 years depending on the size of the container, typically when the central foliage begins to push up out of the water and fewer flowers are able to form
